Day 1 Welcome to Thessaloniki
You will be met at the airport and transferred to the city by our luxury mini-bus. Check into your Hotel and enjoy a welcome dinner.
Day 2 Highlights of Thessaloniki
Explore the city’s mix of ancient and contemporary with your local guide, including a visit to the World Heritage-listed Rotunda and church of Saint Demetrios. During lunch, mingle with locals at the market before visiting a Winery to sip on some of the finest wines the country has to offer. Alternatively, you can visit the Museum of Byzantine Culture.
Day 3 Treasures of the Macedonian Kings
This morning visit Pella, the birthplace of Alexander the Great, and Vergina, the burial grounds of the famous Macedonian kings. At the city of Veroia, enjoy a delicious meal and visit the Bema of Saint Paul, before crossing the Macedonian land and arrive at Meteora.
Day 4 Clifftop Monasteries of Meteora
This morning you wake up under the pinnacles of Meteora, one of Christianity’s holiest places set in a landscape of rare beauty. After visiting two monasteries, enjoy a traditional Greek lunch at our favorite local restaurant. In the afternoon, travel through the great plain of Thessaly to Volos, the harbor of the Argonauts.
Day 5 Flavors of Mount Pelion
Visit the most charming villages of the mountain, marvel at majestic views, and experience the slow-paced lifestyle. Our exclusive culinary adventure will have you mingle with the villagers as you savor their delicious farm-to-table cuisine. Before you return to the hotel, stop at a state-of-the-art olive press to learn the secrets of the extra virgin Pelion olive oil.
Day 6 Wonders of Ancient Volos + Traditional Greek Dancing
This morning explore the ancient sites that surround the harbor of Volos including a visit to the oldest village in Europe (7,000 BC) and the royal tombs of Iolkos, homeland of mythical Jason. At the Archaeological Museum of Volos marvel at rare finds and experience Volos’ famous gastronomic tradition for lunch. This evening you will be introduced to traditional Greek dancing and get moving yourself!
Day 7 Cruise excursion to south Pelion
We take a boat to Old Trikeri island, a car free paradise, and explore the southernmost region of Mount Pelion. Stroll the narrow streets of the colorful harbor of Agia Kyriaki and enjoy fresh sea food at a seaside tavern. Tonight’s farewell dinner features traditional Greek dishes.
Day 8 Depart Volos
